Swim Adults

Ballina Swim School offers lessons to adults. Lessons are in small groups and designed individually for each swimmer. Adults all learn at different rates, and this is reflected in an environment where you can learn at your own pace. We have four stages in our Swim Adult program with adults progressing up to the next class when they are ready.

Swim Adult 1 (30 mins)

Swim Adult 1 will focus on water familiarisation, water confidence, introduction to mobility, buoyancy, breathe control and water safety and survival skills. Maximum class size is six (6).

Skills developed:
– Introduction to breath control
– Submersions
– Front and back floats
– Kicking on front and back
– Basic freestyle with no breathing

Swim Adult 2 (30 min)

Swim Adult 2 will focus on an introduction to basic strokes increasing distance up to 15m. Maximum class size is six (6).

Skills developed:
– Freestyle with side breathing
– Backstroke
– Breaststroke kick on back with board
– Survival backstroke
– Breaststroke (basic)

Swim Adult 3 (45 min)

Swim Adult 3 will focus on developing stroke technique, building endurance over a longer distance. Maximum class size is eight (8).

– Skills developed:
– Freestyle
– Backstroke
– Survival backstroke
– Breaststroke

Swim Adult 4 – Swim Fit (60 Min)

Taken in our 50m pool, this class will work on stroke technique, endurance and efficiency. This class would work towards a mini squad for adults who can progress to a masters swim program. Maximum class size is ten (10).

– Sidestroke
